Two arrested with over 1kg of heroin in Rambukkana
June 22, 2020Two suspects including a woman have been arrested for possession of 1.527 kg of heroin on Sunday (June 21).
The suspects, a 27-year-old male and a 50-year-old female, who are said to be residents at Walgama Road, in Rambukkana were arrested near the Kegalle-Rambukkana railway crossing by the Kegalle Police Organized Crimes Prevention Division.
The suspects were to be produced before the Kegalle Magistrate’s Court today. The Rambukkana Police is conducting further investigations.
Meanwhile, the Kegalle Crimes Division has arrested another suspect of alleged robbing over Rs. 1.8 million of cash after breaking into a bank at Warakapola on June 2.
The suspect, a 32-year-old male in Wattala has reportedly been issued with 13 warrants by several police stations across the country.
The stolen cash from the bank had been recovered and handed over to the Warakapola Police for further investigations.
