‘ITUKAMA’ COVID-19 fund balance exceeds Rs. 1,392 million
June 24, 2020The ‘ITUKAMA’ COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund balance exceeded Rs. 1,392 million yesterday (June 23).
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), the fund balance has now reached Rs. 1,392,909,182.76, following corporate, individual donations and direct deposits.
The ‘ITUKAMA’ Covid-19 fund primarily focuses on facilitating means to combat the pandemic including purchasing medication, medical equipment and capacity expansion.
An amount of Rs. 200 million had so far been allocated for PCR tests while Rs. 6 million has already been released for the purpose, the PMD stated.
Local, as well as foreign donors, have made their contributions to the fund, the PMD added.
