Navy to Navy Staff Talks between SLN and JMSDF concludes successfully
February 15, 2019The first ever Navy to Navy Staff Talks between the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) and Japan Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) concluded on a successful note, today (15 February 2019). State Minister of Defence Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene was present at the conclusion ceremony held at the Light House Galley in Colombo.
A range of topics were taken up for discussions during the inaugural two-day talks which commenced yesterday.
Ambassador of Japan His Excellency Mr. Akira Sugiyama, Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan Mr. Kentaro Sonura, Japanese Defence representatives, senior Sri Lanka Navy and Japan Maritime Self Defence Force officers were also present at the occasion.
