RVSA donates cricket equipment to a war hero’s son

Rana Viru Seva Authority (RVSA), to encourage a war hero's son in his sports activities, donated a set of cricket equipment to him yesterday (June 24).

The donation, worth  of Rs. 60,000, was made on the request of Sandeepa Kalhara, son of Warrant Officer II H.K.S. Rathnapala of the 1st Regiment of Military Intelligence Corps, who sacrificed his life during a terrorist attack at Settikulam on February 05, 2009. Sandeepa Kalhara is a Grade 12 student of Thurstan College Colombo and a member of the College cricket team.

RSVA chairman Maj. Gen. (Retd) Nandana Senadeera and well-wishers contributed to the donation. Cricket equipment were handed over to Kalhara by Maj. Gen. Senadeera at the RSVA premises. RVSA’s Director and the Deputy Director and Kaluthara District Officer  participated in the event.
