Underworld drug dealer dies in a shootout with Police – Gampaha
June 26, 2020An underworld goon cum drug dealer identified as Rankoth Padige Sanjeewa Sampath alias ‘Ketawalapitiye Sampath’ was shot dead by Police in a shootout at Gampaha early this morning (June 26).
The deceased is said to be a close associate of ‘Ganemulle Sanjeewa’, a wanted underworld criminal, said Police Spokesperson SSP Jaliya Senaratne.
According to the Police, the shootout occurred when the suspect had opened fire upon a Police checkpoint manned at Malwathu Hiripitiya in Miriswatte, Gampaha.
