Army disinfects schools in Jaffna
July 03, 2020Army troops serving in Jaffna, as a part of its community-centred programme, disinfected a number of schools to make a healthy environment for children before schools start next Monday (July 07).
Schools in Chunnakam, Inuvil, Uduvil, Kopay, Thavady, Ujarapulam, Urumpirai, Velanai, Kayts, Ariyalai, Arali, Vaddukkoddai, Sangarathai, Mallakam, Alaveddy, Pannalai, Maviddapuram, Sandilippay, Thaiyiddi, Kankesanthurai, Palali, Kurumpasiddy, Vasavilan, Myliddy, Valalai Kopay, Irupalai, Karampan, Thellippalai, Veemankamam, Vardavilan, Ottahappulam and Urani were disinfected by the troops.
The programme was initiated on directives of the Jaffna Security Force Commander Maj. Gen. Ruwan Wanigassoriya.
The government recently announced that schools would initially be open for grade 13, 11 and 5 students from next Monday (July 06).
