Police nets 1,885 persons in the past 24-hours
July 08, 2020Police has arrested 1,885 persons across the country for various offences committed during the past 24 hours ending at 12 midnight on Tuesday (July 07).
According to the Police, 260 persons have been arrested with over 189 g of heroin.
Another 11 suspects have been arrested with over 176 g of ICE (Crystal Methamphetamine) while 163 more suspects were taken into custody along with 5 kg of cannabis in separate operations.
In addition, 367 suspects were arrested with 3,310 liters of illicit liquor, Police said.
Meanwhile, five suspects were also arrested for possessing six locally manufactured shotguns.
The police has apprehended 297 suspects, who were evading warrants issued, while 782 persons were taken into custody for various other offences.
