Navy hands over first ever Maritime Doctrine to Defence Secretary
July 09, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) handed over the Maritime Doctrine of Sri Lanka (MDSL) to the Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry a short while ago.
Preparation of the MDSL was propelled under the guidance of the Navy Commander Vice Admiral Piyal De Silva fulfilling a long-felt need of the country’s maritime domain.
Compilation of MDSL was envisioned to portray the unique nature of the SLN maritime power and its application to the national interests.
