SLN sets up another RO Plant to facilitate over 1,500 Dimbulagala villagers
July 14, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) continuing its community welfare oriented services vested another Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant, for water-stressed residents in Kekuluwela area, Dimbulagala yesterday (13).
Over 1,575 residents living in Kekuluwela, Maldeniya and Kanichchigala villages in Dimbulagala would be facilitated along with the new installation.
Partnering the national program mooted to prevent the chronic kidney disease in several parts of the country, SLN under the sponsorship of Health Ministry has established 752 RO plants around the country while providing technical expertise and labour.
Naval Officer- in- Charge (Trincomalee South) Commodore Prasad Kariapperuma declared open the new RO plant during a brief ceremony organized at the village yesterday.
Mahaweli Block Manager in Weheragala, the Chief Prelate of Kekuluwela Temple, regional state officials, naval personnel and villagers were present at the opening ceremony.
