Police arrest 1,642 suspects during islandwide operations
July 17, 2020A total of 1,642 suspects have been arrested during an islandwide operation that ended last midnight, yesterday, carried out by the Police.
Two suspects, who had two repeater guns with nine live rounds in their possession, one person with 17 hand grenades, 364 suspects for illegal drug-related offences, 281 for illegal liquor, 275 for evading Arrest Warrants and 719 for other similar offences were have been taken into custody by the respective Police stations.
Over 3,857 liters of illegal liquor, one kilogram of cannabis, 13 grams of ‘ice’ and 153 grams of heroin were also taken into the custody during the raids, The Police said.
