114 visitors to Kandakadu tested negative
July 17, 2020A total of 114 persons, who were identified to have visited inmates at Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center and their families, have been tested negative for the Coronavirus, said Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva, today (July 17).
More than 500 new positive cases have been detected from the Kandakadu cluster and among their close contacts, so far.
Meanwhile, the total Coronavirus positives has increased to 2,687 with 13 new patents been identified yesterday, including four returnees from Qatar, another one from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the remaining eight of close contacts of Coronavirus positives from the Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center.
In addition, a total of 669 virus-infected patients are currently under treatment in hospitals, while the total of Coronavirus recoveries has risen to 2,007.
