New house for deserving family
February 26, 2019Another house built with Army expertise was presented to a deserving family living in Jayapuram in the kilinochchi region, recently. According to Army media, Army troops under Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) had provided technical assistance and engineering skill for constructing the house built with financial provisions from the Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation' of Ven Thalagala Sri Sumanaratana Nayake Thero.
The house built at a cost of Rs 457,500.00 was symbolically handed over to the beneficiary, Mrs Sadhishkaran Saraswathi during a ceremony held according to Hindu religious traditions on Saturday (16). A gift pack containing household appliances was also presented to the beneficiary during the ceremony.
Senior military officers, family members of the beneficiary and local residents were also present at the occasion.
Meanwhile, 70 Army personnel in Kilinochchi donated blood in response to a request by the Provincial Blood Bank at Kilinochchi District Hospital, recently.
