Huawei sets-up video conferencing system for seamless communication
July 20, 2020Huawei Technologies Lanka Co. (Pvt) Ltd jointly with Just in Time Technologies have donated a state-of-the-art video conferencing system to the Defence Ministry today (July 19).
The new conferencing system set-up by Huawei will facilitate seamless communication among the many stakeholders and institutions under the Ministry, including the Tri-Forces, Civil Security Department (CSD) Force and Police.
The video conferencing system was officially presented by Huawei Technologies Lanka's CEO Liang Yi to Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne at the Ministry, this morning.
Speaking at the event, Defence Secretary said that the inauguration of the conferencing system was a long-felt need which enabled prompt and effective decision making among the institutions and key stakeholders come under the purview of the Ministry.
The Vice President, Enterprise Business Group (Huawei Lanka) Indika De Zoysa said that the conferencing system installed would be maintained and operated by the Defence Ministry itself.
The Tri-Forces Commanders, Acting Inspector General of Police and Deputy CEO Huawei Technologies Lanka Ricardo Xiao were also present at the occasion.
JIT, which will do the installation, commissioning and support for this solution, is in operation since 1996 and a leading ICT Systems and Solutions Integrator.
JIT CEO Chrishan Mendis, Chief Operating Officer Sherene Goonathilake, Head of Sales Damitha Jayawardena and Senior Relationship Manager Azmi Kamaldeen also participated at the event.
