STF recovers haul of arms, ammunitions and explosives from Ruwanwella
July 26, 2020The Police Special Task Force (STF) during a raid conducted on a tip-off received, has arrested a suspect along with a hoard of arms, ammunition and explosives at Imbulana, Ruwanwella, yesterday (July 25).
The items recovered include 11 shotguns, 13 ammunitions, seven explosive capsules, one kg of explosive and 28 empty ammunition cases (12 bore).
The 52-year-old suspect, a resident of Raththagala, Imbulana, Ruwanwella, will be produced before Avissawella Magistrate Courts today (July 26).
According to the Police, the raid was conducted by the STF personnel at the Sri Jayawardenapura Camp.
Ruwanwella police are conducting further investigations.
Meanwhile, STF personnel at the Udawalawa Camp have also arrested two suspects with locally made two firearms at Balaharuwa in Thanamalwila.
The 34-year-old suspects from Hambegauwa, Ethiliwewa have been produced before Wellawaya Magistrate Court and released on bail, yesterday (July 25).
The Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
