Coastal inundation possible – Met. Dept
July 26, 2020The Meteorology Department issuing a weather advisory report at early morning, today (26) has warned people living in coastal areas about likely coastal inundation along the coast extending from Puttalam to Potuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota due to the strong winds and waves.
Met Department also informs the general public to take adequate precautions over possible damages consequent to lightning and localized strong winds during thundershowers.
Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Central provinces while spells of light showers may experience North-Western province.
Showers or thundershowers may occur in a few places in Uva province, Batticaloa and Ampara districts in the evening.
