‘Harmony Centre’ in Jaffna declared open

Civil-military relations in Jaffna reached new heights with the inauguration of a ‘Harmony Centre’ at Siththankerny in Jaffna on July 25.  

Commander Security Forces Jaffna, Maj. Gen. Ruwan Wanigasooriya declared open the community centre in the midst of well-wishers and elderly.  

The harmony centre was set-up with the objectives of facilitating Jaffna youth in showcasing their talents and skills and promoting   civil military relations in the Peninsula.  

The renovation work of the project was undertaken through financial assistance of a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, the Army said.  

The Army said the maintenance of the facility would be undertaken by the Army troops in Jaffna.  

In addition, the initiative is to directly support the Jaffna civilians to promote sports, IT and domestic industries.
