Police raided an illicit ethanol distillery in Kalutara
July 30, 2020The Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) has raided an illicit ethanol distillery at Mahaheenitigala in Kalutara South, yesterday (July 29), on a tip-off received and 4,000 litres of ethanol have been taken into custody, said Police Media Division.
During the raid, 10 suspects have been arrested. The property taken into custody included 2218 litres of liquor, three machines used to distill liquor, 15,150 empty bottles, 40,000 lids, four chemical bottles, empty containers and chemical measuring instruments.
The suspects will be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate Courts,today (July 30).
Colombo CCD is conducting further investigations.
