All geared for peaceful election - Police
August 04, 2020Sri Lanka Police have deployed over 69,500 Policemen for election related duties around the country to ensure a fair and peaceful election, Police Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne said, today (Aug 4).
He told the defence.lk that over 3,000 Police mobile units have also been deployed.
He said a new hot-line - 1933 was set up for public to report any election related violations.
"These measures have been taken to ensure a peaceful election and post-election period in the country," he said.
