SLN opens RO plant at Panama Bodhirukkarama Temple
August 08, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) has installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Plant, at the ancient Bodhirukkarama Viharaya in Panama, yesterday (7).
The Health Ministry sponsored new RO plant project, installed and operated by the South-Eastern Naval Command was opened for the use of the regional community fulfilling a long- felt need of a permanent solution for drinking water problem in the area.
The new water facility was declared open by South-Eastern Naval Commander Rear Admiral Senarath Wijesooriya amidst blessings of Maha Sanga.
It will provide drinking water not only for residents who are suffering from chronic kidney diseases but also the students of Panama Maha Vidyalaya, devotees and those who visit the sacred Buddhist temple.
The Chief Prelate of Bodhirukkarama Viharaya, Navy Officers, students of Panama Maha Vidyalaya, residents in the area and devotees were present at the event.
