Mahinda Rajapaksa sworn in as 13th Premier of Sri Lanka

Former President and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was sworn in as the 13th Prime Minister of Sri Lanka before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara this morning.
Twice being the Executive President he goes to the country’s political history as the first Prime Minister who has been elected as the Prime Minister for the fourth time.
He was sworn in at an auspicious time as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka’s 9th Parliament before the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and President’s Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundare at a Pirith chanting ceremony by the Maha Sangha.
Representing the Kurunegala district at General Election held on last Wednesday (August 5), he secured the highest number of preferential votes for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
