Army troops clear debris
August 10, 2020Soldiers attached to the 19 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) cleared the debris of the landslide hit Maussakele road that blocked the transportation of the Mohini Ella, Maussakele, Nuwara Eliya.
The road was blocked by the debris of the sudden landslide that shook the area on Sunday morning. The soldiers of the 19th SLNG under the 112 Brigade and the 11 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) rushed to Maussakele area and cleared the debris.
Troops rushed to the area, cleared the debris - soil heaps and boulders- within a few hours and made the road motorable under the instructions by C19th SLNG Commanding Officer Lt. Col. K.N Gunawardena.
