Navy nabs 275 kilos of kerala cannabis off Point Pedro
August 12, 2020Navy nabbed over 275 kilos of kerala cannabis during a special raid carried out at the seas off Point Pedro, Jaffna yesterday (11).
A fast attack craft deployed for a special operation over 22 nautical miles off Point Pedro had recovered six sacks dumped at sea containing Kerala cannabis.
Navy Spokesmen Captain Indika De Silva told defence.lk that, Navy’s presence had foiled the smuggling attempt of the racketeers and search operations are continue to arrest all involved in the drug ring including the vessel.
Seized haul of cannabis were handed over to the Point Pedro Police for further investigations.
Navy Spokesmen confirmed that SLN had conducted the operation adhering to the healthcare guidelines.
