Navy brings critically ill fisherman ashore for treatment
March 11, 2019A critically ill fisherman was brought ashore for treatment by the Sri Lanka Navy, on Saturday (09th March).
According to Navy media, the fisherman had left for fishing onboard the fishing trawler "Ran Putha" from Trincomalee earlier this month (05).
He had become sick at sea about 73 nautical miles off the Foul Point. The Navy had dispatched one its Fast Attack Craft (FAC) to provide assistance to the sick fisherman after being informed of the situation by the Department of Fisheries & Aquatic Resources.
Later, the patient was safely brought ashore onboard the FAC to the Naval Dockyard and swiftly sent to the Trincomalee General Hospital for treatment.
