Sri Lanka's Coronavirus death toll rises to 12
August 23, 2020Coronavirus deaths in Sri Lanka have risen to 12 with the death of a female, today. (Aug 23).
The Government Information Department's statement issued has confirmed that a 47-year-old woman, who had recently arrived from India and tested positive for Coronavirus, had died making the country's Coronavirus death toll to 12.
She had also been diagnosed with cancer and heart ailments and had died while being treated at the Angoda Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH), it stated.
Meanwhile, the total Coronavirus confirmed cases reported to date is 2,947 while the total recovered being increased to 2,798.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry has confirmed that 137 are still undergoing medical treatment in hospitals.
