Navy supplies water to over 650 villagers in Anuradhapura
August 28, 2020Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) has installed three Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants to provide safe drinking water to rural villagers in North Central Province continuing its community welfare oriented services on Aug 26.
The new facility was installed at the Vihara Bulankulama Vidyalaya in Anuradhapura, Pandulagama Siri Sambuddha temple and Nekatunuwewa Siri Sambuddha temple in Mihintale.
Over 650 villagers in neighbouring Anuradhapura Vihara Bulankulama Vidyalaya, Pandulagama and Seeppukulam in Mihintale would be provided water from the new plants.
Partnering the national program implemented to solve the chronic kidney disease in North Central Province, SLN under the sponsorship of naval social responsibility project has established 764 RO plants so far around the country while providing technical expertise and labour.
Commander North Central Naval Area Rear Admiral Lalith Dissanayake declared open the new RO plants at separate functions organized in respective areas.
