Minister Rajapaksa opens navy built RO plant to provide water for over 4,000 students in Debarawewa

Irrigation Minister and State Minister of Internal Security, Home Affairs and Disaster Management Chamal Rajapaksa declared open a Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant at the Debarawewa National School in Tissamaharama, yesterday (Aug 31).

Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) installed a new water facility under the directives of the Irrigation Minister following a request made by the parents to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa during his recent visit to the school.

Responding to the timely need, SLN installed the new facility within a short span of time to provide safe drinking water for over 4,000 students and the villagers of the area.

Commander Southern Naval Area Commodore Priyantha Perera, School Principal, teachers, parents, students, SLN officers, sailors, and residents in the area were also present at the event.
