New Coast Guard DG receives letter of appointment
September 29, 2020Commodore Anura Ekanayake has been appointed as the 7th Director General of Sri Lanka Coast Guard (SLCG) with effect from Sep 30.
Commodore Ekanayake received his letter of appointment from Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne at the Defence Ministry today (Sep 29).
He was appointed as the Director General following the retirement of Rear Admiral Samantha Wimalathunga as the Director General SLCG.
Prior to being appointed as the Director General SLCG, Commodore Ekanayake had been serving as the Director Naval Project and Planning of the Sri Lanka Navy.
