Army donates 49 Artificial Limbs to Trincomalee Civilians
September 29, 2020The Sri Lanka Army’s 221 Brigade donated artificial limbs to 49 needy people in the Trincomalee district at a function held recently at the Trincomalee Town Hall.
The humanitarian oriented welfare gesture was jointly sponsored by Colombo Friend in Need Society and the Rotary Club, Colombo City through the coordination of 221 Brigade Commander Brig. Priyantha Kariyawasam.
The beneficiaries were civilians with inborn disabilities and differently able persons, who could not afford to purchase expensive artificial limbs.
Representatives of Colombo Rotary Club and Friend in Need Society, sponsors, Trincomalee Mayor, 221 Brigade Commander Brig. Priyantha Kariyawasam, 223 Brigade Commander Brig. Shantha Perera, Officers and 22 Division’s staff members were present at the occasion held on last Sunday (27).
