Shifting to South-West Monsoon
October 13, 2020Indian Ocean Region is prone to monsoonal changes every six months impacting on the livelihood of many Sri Lankans. As a result, the entire island, particularly the South-Western parts of the country experienced extreme weather conditions of wind and showers.
Marine weather forecast today (Oct 13) also alerts naval and fishing communities not to venture into sea around North Andaman sea areas until 14th October due to the low pressure and likely development to a deep depression.
Disaster Management Centre and security forces are on extra vigilant to assist potential disaster management situation in future.
