North-based Army Hospital ready with 100 beds for Emergency
October 14, 2020Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva assured that the Army made ready with 100 beds in an emergency in the North.
During a meeting held at the NOCPCO premises yesterday (Oct 13), Army Commander made the assurance when the acting Director General of Health Services (DGHS) sought assistance to expand admission possibilities for patients in the North in case of any emergency.
He also said all arrangements with necessary accessories could also be made available.
The meeting was co-chaired by Secretary to Ministry of Health, Maj. Gen. (Dr) Sanjeewa Munasinghe and other major stakeholders in the health sector were present at the occasion.
