Coronavirus prevention laws gazetted

The Health Ministry has published a special gazette notification effective from yesterday midnight (Oct 14) on coronavirus preventive regulations compulsing the implementation of key health safety measures to contain COVID-19.

It also include the COVID-19 prevention and control guidelines for workplaces and business places.

Guidelines on wearing a face mask, social distancing, maintenance of business and workplaces, travel restrictions, quarantine, and transportation etc have been given.

According to the new gazette notification, the courts will be able to impose a fine or a prison sentence of six months or both sentences against law breakers.
