A total of 373,534 PCR tests completed so far
October 17, 2020The 110 cases reported on Oct 16 have increased the country’s total Coronavirus positives to 5,354 according to the epidemiology unit’s information.
Accordingly, 1,041 were the employees of the Minuwangoda apparel factory while 860 infected persons were identified as their close contacts which led to increase the number of positives within the cluster to 1,901.
NOCPCO also said along with the 7,675 PCR tests conducted yesterday, a total of 373,534 tests have been completed in the island and a total of 9,415 persons are undergoing quarantine in 86 quarantine centres.
Following total recovery, 05 Coronavirus contracted patients were discharged from the hospital and they were persons repatriated from overseas.
According to NOCPCO 53,395 persons have completed their quarantine period successfully so far.
