Handing over appointment letters under 100,000 jobs programme begins
October 20, 202034,818 trainees have been selected from the lowest income families under the first phase of the programme to recruit 100,000 individuals for employment.
Handing over of appointment letters to the trainees commenced yesterday (19), said President Media Division issuing a media statement.
Appointees will receive a 06-month formal training in 25 identified areas according to their skills and preferences and the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) will supervise their training.
The trainees get a monthly allowance of Rs. 22,500 and a NVQ III certificate on completion of the training.
The 100,000 jobs programme has been formulated in line with the concept of “creating a poverty-free Sri Lanka” under the “Saubhagyaye Dekma” policy statement of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.
They will be given permanent appointments on PL-01 Service Category and will be directed to Ministries, Departments, Corporations and institutions affiliated with the Government to fill existing vacancies.
