Jaffna troops built houses for an Ex combatant and a needy family

Security Forces, Jaffna extending their humanitarian assistance with donors' support built two houses and donated recently to two needy families in Jaffna in a simple ceremony.

Inaugural warming ceremony was graced by Security Forces-Jaffna Commander Maj. Gen. Senerath Bandara, and representatives of the donors.

One beneficiary, a deserving widowed woman, Mrs. K. Sudakar in Vallipuram has two children. She was formerly an LTTE combatant. The family of the other recipient, Mrs. S Ranjan Nandani of Jaffna was also in dire need of support.

4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 16 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the 551 Brigade provided manpower and technical expertise to build the houses while a south-based banker  Mr. Kumar Weerasuriya with his colleagues granted financial support.

Sponsors and troops jointly gifted a stock of home appliances and several necessary items for both houses.

Religious dignitaries, Additional Divisional Secretary - Karaveddi, General Officer Commanding 55 Division,  senior military and Police officers, Government Officials, well-wishers and troops participated in the house-warming ceremonies in keeping with health guidelines.
