War Heroes receive a stock of needy equipment

Mrs. Thanuja Wijesiri Dias, a regular donor along with her friends recently made a valuable financial donation for the welfare of the needy disabled war heroes of the country. The financial donations were made at the request of the Chairman of the Ranaviru Seva Authority (RSA).

The RSA stated, these donors regularly make donations under the Ranaviru Seva Authority's Post Care and Rehabilitation Division's Disability Assistance Equipment Program joining hands with the Ministry of Defence, Embassy of China and Huawei Technologies.

Accordingly, the war heroes  were given away a large stock of equipment  that included  153 artificial limbs worth over Rs. 20 million, 02 electronic automatic prosthetic hands,  02 normal prosthetic hands, 60 normal wheelchairs, 65 special wheelchairs, 250 crutches, 15 pairs of crutches, 20 clinical shoes, 30 white sticks, 120 pairs of spectacles, 13 hearing aids and 02 laptops for war heroes’ two children selected to the university.

RSA also contributed to the valuable cause while cutting its unnecessary expenses.

Defence attaché of the Chinese Embassy Snr. Col. Wan Dong,  Deputy Defence attaché of the Chinese Embassy Col. Wang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Huawei Technologies Lanka Co. (Pvt) Ltd Liang Yi, Deputy CEO Huawei Technologies Lanka Co. (Pvt) Ltd Ricardo Xiao gave away the donation on Oct 23 at the RSA premises.

The Chairman, Director and staff of the RSA were present at the occasion.
