Spells of shower in several parts in the country - Met Dept
October 26, 2020The Met Department stated that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in North - Central, Eastern and Uva Provinces and in Mullaitivu, Vavuniya and Matale districts after 2.00 p.m.
It further states, fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected at some places in these areas and in Trincomalee districts.
General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Light showers may occur at a few places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.
The sea areas extending from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambanthota can be fairly rough at times and showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the sea areas extending from Kankasnthurei to Batticaloa via Trincomalee in the evening or night during the next 24 hours, the Met Dept confirmed.
