Defence Secretary declares open KIOSK SHOP at the Army HQ
October 29, 2020Defence Secretary Maj. Gen. (Retd) Kamal Gunaratne accompanied by Defence Ministry’s Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson Chitrani Gunaratne declared open the 'KIOSK SHOP' at the Army Headquarters, Battaramulla today (Oct 29).
The newly opened fully fledged KIOSK SHOP will be administrated under the purview of the Sri Lanka Army Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU).
KIOSK’ sells all Army accessories and branded male and female garments with other other Eco-friendly items, such as table mats, natural products, handicrafts and hand-made ornamental jewelleries.
These items are mainly produced by the differently-able war heroes with others those have innate talents.
Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva, Army SVU Chairperson Sujeewa Nelson, Navy SVU Chairperson Chandima Ulugetenne, Air Force SVU Chairperson Prabavi Dias, Police SVU Chairperson Priyangi Wickramarathne, other members of Army SVU senior military officials were also present at the opening ceremony.
