New Chairperson takes over duties of Seva Vanitha Unit
May 14, 2019Mrs. Soniya Kottegoda assumed duties as the new Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence (MoD SVU) today (14 May 2019) at the Ministry.
Director Finance Mrs AATK Adikari and other officials of the MoD SVU were also present at the occasion.
The MoD SVU is designed to look into the welfare of the valiant war heroes and their families. Primarily the SVU aims at providing financial assistances for housing, offer educational scholarships for 'Ranaviru' children and provide welfare and financial assistances to 'Ranaviru' families in an emergency and other welfare measures. It also works in close cooperation with the Seva Vanitha Units of the tri-forces and the Civil Security Department.
