A total of 228 persons to return home from Quarantine Centres

Along with the total of 397 Coronavirus positives identified yesterday (Nov 01), the total number of confirmed cases in Sri Lanka increased to 11,060 according to the Epidemiology Unit, Health Ministry.

The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said a total of 61,955 persons have returned to their homes on completion of the quarantine process as of today (02).

NOCPCO also indicates that the confirmed cases within the Minuwangoda cluster has increased to 7,582

QR 668, Qatar Airways flight carrying three Sri Lankan nationals from Doha, Qatar arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), today morning and they were directed for quarantine process, NOCPCO confirmed.

Meanwhile, 228 persons under quarantine are expected to return home from respective quarantine centres on completion of stipulated quarantine period.

Coronavirus deaths in Sri Lanka have risen to 21 with the death of a male aged 40 years at Mahara, the Government Information Department's statement confirmed.

The victim had been under medical care at the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases in Welisara due to high blood pressure and respiratory tract infection and died.

During the post-mortem examination, he was confirmed positive for Coronavirus making the country's Coronavirus death toll to 21, it stated.
