Several Police areas isolated

Hemmathagama, Mawanella, Bulathkohupitiya Police areas and Galigamuwa Pradeshiya Sabha area in Kegalle District and Giriulla Police area in Kurunegala District have been declared isolated, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.

Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases in the island has increased to 11,335 along with the total of 275 Coronavirus positives identified yesterday (Nov 02), according to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry.

NOCPCO also indicates that the confirmed cases within the Minuwangoda cluster increased to 7,857.

A total of 29 Sri Lankan nationals arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport from Doha, Qatar and Abu Dhabi today morning and all of them were directed for quarantining, NOCPCO confirmed.

15 persons under quarantine are expected to return home today from respective quarantine centres on completion of the quarantine period.

A total of 62,917 individuals have returned homes on completion of the quarantine process and 1,082 persons are now isolated in 45 tri-service-managed quarantine centres as of today (3).
