SLN fetches fire doused fishing vessel ashore safely
November 08, 2020The Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) doused the fire triggered on-board a fishing vessel off southern seas and fetched ashore safely, yesterday (Nov 07).
The distressed trawler, left from Ambalangoda fisheries harbour, had caught fire while returning home at the seas off Koggala.
Southern Naval Command deployed Inshore Patrol Craft (IPC) for patrol at sea had rushed to the scene to douse the fire, SLN said.
A Fast Attack Craft (FAC) arrived at the location brought the distressed vessel safely to the Galle fisheries harbour and no injuries to the fishermen were reported.
