Arrested Arms and Ammunitions
November 09, 2020The Sri Lanka (SL) Army, Navy, Air Force, Police and STF were on alert on illegal weapons and ammunition during the past week. Operations in search of illegal firearms were underway in keeping with the government's vision to curb underworld activities.
Accordingly, 16 locally manufactured weapons, 28 illegally smuggled weapons, 13 weapon accessories, 197 bombs, 2.594 kilos of explosive and 403 rounds have been nabbed and a total of 14 persons were arrested.
Compared to the last week, underworld activities and the recovered illegal weapons and accessories are less.
