Army constructed four new homes and handed over keys for War Heroes
November 21, 2020The Army’s Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment in its project of building 20 new houses for the needy war heroes families has completed the construction of four new houses recently and handed over the keys to four families.
The recipients of new houses include three critically injured war heroes during the war and a spouse of fallen war hero.
The houses were built at Diyatalawa, Uhana, Parakaduwa and Mangalagama, with the directions of the Colonel of the SLLI Regiment, Maj. Gen. Jayanath Jayaweera and the Regiment, several philanthropists and patrons supported the task.
Members of the Regimental Council, relatives of beneficiaries, Officers and Other Ranks were associated with respective separate warming ceremonies.
