A total of 10,679 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (23)

Following the confirmation of 337 Coronavirus positives today morning (Nov 24), the number of cases increased up to 20,507, the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said.

Two persons among the total positives identified are from overseas while 189 are from Colombo District, 47 from Gampaha District and 11 from Puttalam District,  the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) confirmed.

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 16,974 and 10,691 out of them have left hospitals following complete recovery.  

A total of 10,679 PCR tests were conducted on Monday (23), NOCPCO also said.

Three Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours were residents of  Heiyantuduwa, Colombo 14 and Colombo 15.

Meanwhile, 188 persons arrived in the country from Doha Quatar, and Abudhabi today morning will be directed for quarantining.

A total of 4,490 persons are isolated in military-managed 45 quarantine centres as of today, NOCPCO also said.

Accordingly the Epidemiology Unit,  the country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 90.
