A total of 7,467 PCR tests conducted yesterday (24)

Following the confirmation of 458 Coronavirus positives during the last 24 hours, the number of cases in the country increased to 20,967, the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry said.

All of the infections identified yesterday were locally identified while 259 are from Colombo District, 23 from Gampaha District and 78 from Kalutara District, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) confirmed.

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 17,432 and 11,156 out of them have left hospitals following complete recovery.  

A total of 7,467 PCR tests were conducted on Tuesday , NOCPCO also said.

Four Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours were residents of Ginigathhena, Siyambalape South, Colombo 15 and Bandaragama.

Meanwhile, 02 persons arrived in the country from Doha Qatar, 50 persons from Dubai, 92 persons from India and 53 persons from Maldives today morning will be directed for quarantining.

A total of 4,797 persons are isolated in military-managed 45 quarantine centres as of today, NOCPCO also said.

According to the Epidemiology Unit, the country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 94.
