Total Coronavirus recoveries rose to 15,815

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (27) stands at 559 and the total cases in the country increased to 22,027, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Accordingly, the cases identified locally were 553 and 253 of them were from Colombo District, 65 from Gampaha District and 35 from Kalutara District. Six persons arrived to the country from the overseas including one foreigner were also identified positive.

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 18,487 and out of them  a total of 12,437 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also confirmed that a total of 12,105 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (26) and  the day’s total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (27) stands at 369.

Meanwhile, the total arrived in the country today morning reads as 305 which included 50 persons from Doha Qatar, 52 from Dubai, 191 from Australia and 12 from Japan. Meanwhile, 75 persons from Italy are expected to arrive today morning. They all  will be directed for quarantining.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 15,815 persons. 6,113 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 5,114 persons are quarantining under 47 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 99 along with three Coronavirus deaths reported from Colombo 08, Peliyagoda and Bambalaptiya during the last 24 hours.
