SLN nabbed hidden stock of turmeric
November 27, 2020The Sri Lanka Navy’s (SLN) Northwestern Naval Command managed to recover a hidden stock of dried turmeric weighing 1067 kilos and collared a suspect in Puttalam on 25 Nov, SLN Said.
They had been stuffed in 25 sacks and hidden at a salt manufacturing outlet in the area.
The 37-year-old suspects along with the seized turmeric were handed over to the Puttalam Police for onward legal proceedings.
The entire operation was carried out adhering to preventive measures stipulated for COVID - 19 pandemic, SLN also said.
