A total of 430 Covid-19 recoveries in last 24 hours

Following the confirmation of 487 Coronavirus positives during the last 24 hours, the number of cases in the country increased to 22,988 the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.

All the cases were locally identified and 223 of them are from Colombo District. Further 78 from Gampaha District and 15 from Kandy District.

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 19,447 and out of them 13,223 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also confirmed that a total of 11,936 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (28) and  the day's total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (29) stands at 430.

Meanwhile, the total arrived in the country today morning reads as 414 which included 69 persons arrived in the country today morning from Maldives, 45 persons from Doha Qatar, 4 persons from Australia, 4 persons from India and 292 persons from Dubai are arrived today morning. They all will be directed for quarantining.

A total of 5,279 persons are quarantining under 53 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 109 along with two Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
