Wickramaratne to conduct a special combined operation along with the Prison Officers to ease the unruly behaviour triggered at the Mahara Prison today (December 1, 2020).
This was following the latest incident of disruptive behaviour reported at the Mahara Prison premises today, by the prison activists.
As per the prompt instructions of the IGP, the Police, Special Task Force and Prison Officials worked in unison to bring the tense situation under control without causing any harm either to inmates or prison staffers. With the completion of the successful operation, prison activities are back in order and are running smoothly under the Prison authorities.
Today’s incident was reported as a continuation of the turmoil that unfolded at the Mahara Prison on December 29, 2020.
