The total recovered from Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda cluster rose to 14,409

The total Coronavirus positives identified during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (December 02) stands at 545 and the total cases in the country increased to 24,531, the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

Four  persons among the total positives identified yesterday were Sri Lankans repatriated from overseas while 294 positives from Colombo District, 130 from Kaluthara District and 36 from Kandy District have been identified, the NOCPCO confirmed today (December 02).  

The number of infected persons associated with the Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster increased to 20,979 and out of them a total of 14,409 have left hospitals following complete recovery.

NOCPCO also stated that a total of 7,463 PCR tests were conducted yesterday (01) and  the day’s total recoveries from the virus during the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today (02) stands at 257.

Meanwhile, the total arrived in the country today morning reads as 117 which included 44 persons from Mali,  52 from Dubai and 21 from Qatar. Further, 70 persons will arrive in the country from India today.  They all will be directed for quarantining.

The total recovery from the virus in the country rose to 17,816 persons. 6,593 Coronavirus patients are undergoing medical treatments while 6,461 persons are quarantining under 59 centres managed by Tri-Forces, NOCPCO added.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll has increased to 122 along with four Coronavirus deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
